The feedback loop with questionnaires: after the freebie, follow up with whoever came

In short

Linear scale from 1 to 5 by default, up to 0 to 10, with a label at both ends

On every response: the bell, a phone notification, an email and, if you connect it, a Discord channel

Bink does not email the person who fills in the form: they read your thank-you message on screen

Chapter 1/7

The gym effect

In January gyms fill up: a free trial, a membership, a workout plan handed over on day one. By March half of those people are gone, and almost never because the gym was bad. Nobody reached out to them after the second week.

The trainer who asks "how is it going, from 1 to 5?" every ten days and changes the plan when the answer is 2 keeps their clients. They do nothing special: they measure, listen and stay in touch.

Online it works the same way. A freebie, whether it is a PDF guide, a template or a first lesson, brings people in; without a follow-up they stay an email address on a list.

Chapter 2/7

What a feedback loop is

It is a loop in four steps: you give something, you ask how it went, you answer what people tell you, you change what you offer. Then you start again.

The questionnaire is the second step, and it is the one that almost always gets skipped: people assume that whoever does not complain is happy. Whoever does not complain has often already left.

Chapter 3/7

The questions: a Likert scale and an open question

A Likert scale asks how much you agree with a statement, usually from 1 to 5: "The guide helped me get started". In a Bink form it is the "linear scale" question: it starts at 1 to 5, and you can take it up to 0 to 10. Write a label at both ends, for example "Not at all" and "Very much", so nobody wonders whether 1 is the high score or the low one.

To rate several things at once, use the rating grid: the rows are the aspects (clarity, timing, price), the columns are the scale, and it is filled in with one tap per row.

Close with an optional open question, "What would you change?", as long text. The numbers tell you where to look, the open answer tells you what to do.

Three to five questions are enough. With "One question at a time" the questionnaire is filled in one step at a time, and on a phone people finish sooner.

Chapter 4/7

The loop, step by step

Give the freebie. A form collects the email, and in the thank-you message you write when the material will arrive, which you send yourself. If you want automatic delivery, put the PDF in a product at a token price, from €0.50 up: it arrives by email on its own, with every purchase.

After one or two weeks you send the questionnaire: another form, with its own address like bink4.me/yourname/how-is-it-going, in the same conversation where you delivered the freebie, by email or on WhatsApp. On the Free plan you keep one form active: to have both the freebie form and the questionnaire you need Pro, which keeps fifteen.

Read the responses as soon as they arrive and write to whoever gave a low score. An "I saw your 2, what did not work?" sent the same day is worth more than ten newsletters.

Every month you export the CSV and look at the averages. A question that stays low tells you what to change: the freebie, the service, or the way you explain it. Then the loop starts again.

Chapter 5/7

What arrives, and to whom, when someone fills it in

To you, on every response: a notification in the bell, a notification on your phone if you have the Bink app, an email with all the answers if the email alert is on in the form settings, and a message in a Discord channel if you connected one from Settings → Integrations.

Bink does not send an automatic email to the person who fills it in: at the end they read on screen the thank-you message you write, with an image if you like. Write there what happens next, for example "I will write to you within two days", so you make the promise once and keep it.

You can also ask Bink AI to read you a form's responses and tell you what comes up most often: it reads them from your account.

Chapter 6/7

Bringing the responses into your email tool

Bink has no direct connection with email marketing services. There are three ways, starting from the simplest.

The CSV: on the form page press "Export CSV" and import the list into your mailing list. It is on every plan, Free included.

An automation: with Zapier, Make or n8n you read the form responses with your Bink key and, on every new response, add the contact to the list. How to connect them is on the Integrations page.

Your assistant: with Claude connected to Bink and to your email marketing service, ask "add this week's emails from the How is it going form to the Clients list". The assistant reads the responses from Bink and writes them into the other service when you ask, not on its own.

Chapter 7/7

The same loop after a sale

Whoever buys a product, pays for a booking or takes a pack of sessions goes into Clients on their own, with name and email: when you send them the questionnaire you already know who they are and what they bought.

Form responses, on the other hand, do not create client records: they stay on the form page. When someone who answered you becomes a client, you add them yourself with "New client".

Frequently asked questions

Does Bink send an automatic email to people who fill in a form?

No. They see on screen the thank-you message you write, with an image if you like. The automatic email goes to you: with the alert on, every response sends you an email with all the data submitted.

How do I make a Likert scale in a Bink form?

Add a "linear scale" question: it starts at 1 to 5 and you can take it up to 0 to 10. Write a label at both ends; to rate several aspects in the same question, use the rating grid.

Do I get a notification on my phone when someone fills in a form?

Yes, if you have the Bink app: every response sends a push notification, on top of the one in the bell. With the email alert on you also get an email, and if you connect a Discord channel, a message there.

Does Bink connect to Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign?

Not directly. You export the form responses as CSV and import them into your list, or you use Zapier, Make or n8n with your Bink key, or an assistant like Claude connected both to Bink and to your email marketing service.

How often should I send clients a questionnaire?

After a concrete result: one or two weeks after the freebie, the day after a session, at the end of a programme. More often than that it turns into noise and responses drop.
